This is the cortex shin. The vinyl version takes about 21 mins to make which includes putting it in an air chamber and centrifugal spinner to get rid of air bubbles - then baked and cooled down then removed from the mold. The surface would have to be treated before cutting of the flash which requires re-heating. This is just for one shin! Cocoa parts require further treatment to reduce blemishes as they stand out more due to color.
The cortex version takes about 25 seconds - 10 seconds in the injection molder, 5 seconds to cut the flash with a nipper and 10 seconds to snap it together - no screws.
This is one reason why cortex can be offered at a more affordable price.
