Resilient Cocoa is so cute! Dem freckles! There are so many cuties waiting in the wings but I don't think we can get them all out the door unless we change the way we release them. Stocking up and then releasing them is becoming impractical and inefficient.
We do need to have a certain set of characters available at all times for folks who have just discovered Smart Doll. We found that kids prefer the big anime eyed characters which is why Mirai, Melody and Oceana does extremely well with kids first time orders.
Kids from 6 to 11 years of age tend not to go for the semi-real ones on their first purchase. Semi-real starts to get popular with kids of 12 and up.

So it looks like we will have to start taking pre-orders if consumers want more variety sooner. This means that you don't need to wait forever for characters like Challenge to come out - you would be able to pre-order and have her arrive within 6 weeks (for example) guaranteed.
This means that we will be able to make more variations like Challenge in Cocoa/Tea/Blue etc but means they will only be available during certain windows. Popular characters will have more windows open for pre-orders.
We will be able to schedule production much more efficiently which touches many areas like assembly, face paint etc.
Most consumers do not really care about issues like production capacity, employee health, costs, inventory capacity and so on so I would like to hear how you would do this as a business owner ;-)
