Testing 7 shades for the anniversary Mirai eye again today after previous multiple tests.
Color looks different depending on the angle of light hitting the eye lens which we only find out once the eyes have been casted.
Eye color is tweaked in small increments for saturation, brightness and contrast and then recasted.
We then test the eyes in different lighting conditions to make sure they look good.
Eye development can take months and only released when we are satisfied with the final look and feel.
We work with Fujifilm who Supply us with a special thermal printer for the eyes - they just happen to have their office next to ours in Gotanda Tokyo.
