Writing this post up for the new family of Boing Boing readers (but applicable to all new readers) who decided to stay on at dannychoo.com after my guest blogging last month. Welcome everybody and thank you for staying on!
Had a great time and was an honor to be able to write for one of the most read blogs in the world. Was also an interesting experience using Movable Type which seemed to be in need of much improvement in terms of cache management(?)
Would love feedback from not only the Boing Boing readers but also recent newcomers on what made you decide to stay on? Was it the Japan stuff (A Week in Tokyo, Photo Walks etc), Figures, Subculture, Trooper or a mix of everything?
I saw *many* comments like "love the Japan photos - get rid of the perverted figures" type comments. Does the subculture stuff put you off from viewing the site? Would you prefer to have filtered settings to show everything apart from Japan stuff?
What was your first run experience like at dannychoo.com? Was the UI confusing? What improvements would you suggest?
Would mean a lot to me to hear your feedback. Feel free to leave feedback for me over at Facebook or Twitter too.
No intention to stop writing about otaku subculture because much of my passion is there. I do think however that I can easily cater for folks who are not interested in particular subjects through UI tweaks and settings - lemme know what you want.
And just a recap on all the posts that I wrote on Boing Boing over two weeks.
