Located between Kyushu and Okinawa, Amami Oshima is a 2-hour plane journey from Tokyo. The clear seas and lush forestry wrapped in a subtropical climate make it the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo.
We rented a cottage at Amami Oshima for a few days and enjoyed canoeing in a mangrove forest, scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing, and chilling out on the beach - oh, and taking photos of smarties.
Here are a select bunch of photos - I may post more, but because we usually take a ton of photos on our trips, I'll be sharing photos that we took on the Smart Doll site soon.
We have another trip planned for Okinawa again in the next couple of months - we love water activities!
The team trip to Hokkaido last month was great, but I think most of us prefer water activities over snow ;-)
Do you prefer Summer or Winter activities? If you are wondering about how temperature affects a Smart Doll, we have done tests where we froze parts in a freezer and boiled them too with no detrimental effects - but I would not try this at home, or your Smartie may do the same to you when you are asleep.
