Clubhouse - a new type of social media with less of the "media" and more of the "social."
At the moment, Clubhouse is invite only and iPhone only. I just joined yesterday and see a potential for this service to perhaps replace some of the most popular social media services that we use today - just like how MySpace and Friendster was replaced by Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
The problem with social media these days is now that these platforms have millions of users, they need to understandably monetize - but this means that we are not seeing the content that we want - and instead end up seeing a load of ads and clickbait. Clickbait is promoted in feeds that encourage prolonged activity on a platform leading to more clicks on ads.
This is one of the reasons why you may not be seeing all my posts - if you want to keep up with my ramblings, then hit the bell on my profile page to be notified.
Clubhouse is interesting as you follow folks who will host verbal chat rooms. There are no clickbait links to click on and nothing to type - just people to speak with. You can be running about in your underpants and still participate.
If you do get an invite to Clubhouse then feel free to follow me by searching for "Danny Choo" and we will hook up from time to time for a chat ;-)
Do a google for Clubhouse to learn more and how it may benefit you.
What social media sites do you regularly use?
By the way, I already used up my single invite when I signed up. Maybe ask a friend to see who has an account.
