Taking #TeamSmartDoll for some snorkeling around the coral reefs of Kohamajima in Okinawa.
It was the first time for most of us and was a refreshing new experience.

Watching the underwater world and its inhabitants was fascinating.

I’m no expert on the subject but after a bit of Googling afterwards, I found that much of Okinawa’s reef has died due to a phenomenon known as bleaching. The water temperature rises and the coral inhabitants take leave. If they come back in a few weeks then the coral lives - if not they die.

I love visiting America’s national parks in particular for the amazing landscapes - my fave being Arches, Canyon Lands and Death Valley. But due to the pandemic it looks like we wont be traveling outside of Japan anytime soon.

But the discovery of reef exploring has sparked me and my teams interest for diving which we can do not so far from Tokyo in the Miura Peninnsula. A new world with fascinating landscapes to explore underwater. In the process I hope we can learn and share awareness about the reefs.
How many of you are snorkeling or diving buffs?
