Tokyo Events

Was invited by comrades at Poken to the press conference for the Good Design Expo. The conference was coupled with a networking event called YuruYuru Gadget Night where gadget makers and service providers show off their goodies.
I was given an area to display what ever I wanted and decided to go along with Good Smile Company and let the press hordes learn how fantastic the world of figures are.
I arrive at about 16:00 to find Oda-san and Megumi-san from GSC setting up.
The venue was a snazzy bar at Tokyo Midtown.
The person who designed the Yuruyuru Night logo must have liked Minamike. *has sudden urge to watch the first season again*
Was a great opportunity to get more exposure for GSC.
Through conversations with GSC, they mentioned that there are still many folks out there who are embarrassed about owning figures. Not too sure what there is to be embarrassed about.
Mirai Figma was there too. Notice anything different about her?
The interview corner.
Press presentations begin. Good Design Award post for those who want to know what on earth is going on.
Today I spotted only one person asleep.
The Good Design Expo takes place at Tokyo Big Sight from the 28th through to the 30th of this month.
Was interesting to see this chap using the blue tooth Apple keyboard with his mobile device. Anybody tried the keyboard with their iPhone yet?
Saber was hard at work helping out at the Poken booth.
Saber Kawaiiii!
Before I forget, some of these photos were taken by the following folks where you can check out more photos.

Poken and I are working on a Mirai-chan version soon.
How many of you have one?
Eye-fi was there too. I didn't get it to work so gave it to gadget guru Steve Nagata ^^;
Free food was brought out regularly and tasted rather good.
A packed evening of catching up with folks and meeting new ones.
Many DC readers came along after reading the invite which I also announced on my Twitter. Thank you all for coming!
Folks from Circus came along too.
As the hours passed, the armor started to feel heavier. Need a new costume or something.
Cant be bothered to wear the neck seal in the Summer but just realized how bad the armor looks without it. With the folks from GSC.
Dont usually get to eat or drink much at networking events. Did manage to get 1.5 glasses of coke tonight ^^;
Apart from the 5 Lumix LX3's on the table, another 2 people were in the were house telling me that they got the Lumix after seeing my photos ^^; How many of you out there are Lumix LX3 users?
Somebody makes their own custom Drossel Poken.
And the back of the custom Drossel Poken.
Does anybody know the history of Roppongi and how come there are so many fellow gaijin in the area? Is it to do with the different embassies located in the nearby Hirou area?
Back in the office about to push the jettison button which casts off the armor.
Met a load of folks and a few new clients. Slowly going through the new batch of meishi (business cards).
This morning - about to clean up ground zero.
Have been wondering if I should polish up the armor or give it some spice and weather it up like Gordon's sandtrooper.
Saber sits patiently waiting to be attended to.
Just some of the stuff I was handed last night - thanks for the prezzies!
