POSTED BY DANNY CHOO On Sat 2006/03/25 08:52 JST in Anime
The TAF 2006 is open to the public tomorrow and Sunday - the entrance fee is 1000 yen for adults, 500 yen for students and its free for those over 65, press folks and people with guns ( just point your mean weapon at the entrance staff ).
Eureka Seven and Aquarion goodness.
Aquarion mechas screaming "Smash the glass and take us home!"
Aquarion mechas screaming "Do it now! Nobody's looking!"
Haven't started to watch the series yet but from the bits that I saw from episode one - looks good.
Nirvash - wouldn't you love to have this sitting in front of yer house?
The great thing about business/press days is that you dont have to worry about tripping over kids getting tangled in your legs. But the good thing about kids is that they distract the staff - so on days when you cant get hold of your pass, you can use them to distract the annoying staff as you take pictures. The trick is to throw sweets or small change on the floor and when the little brats clamber for the goodies - just take as many pics as you want.
Hey - I'm joking about the kids - its my turn to have kids soon ;-)
Digimon - the Pokemon rip-off.
A nice lady at the Pony Canyon booth.
Characters from Naruto.
More Naruto.
Another nice lady at the Geneon booth - a distributor of anime titles which include Sailor Moon.
Some of the helium balloons lost pressue and started to look all saggy which was quite funny.
COSPA costumes from BLOOD + and a nasty looking demon.
Angel Heart - the latest City Hunter shenanigans.
Full Metal Alchemist - I never got into this anime - maybe not enough Mecha and Female characters?
The girls from Pretty Cure. The girls (I presume they were girls in these costumes) were great - dancing all over the gaff - check Akihabara News for a clip of them.
How about some One Piece characters for your front porch?
Hayao Miyazaki's new film - Gedo Senki - Tales from Earthsea.
The gold plated dude from GARO.
The "The Third" book series.
Sorry - cant remember who/what/when for this pic - if anybody knows let us know - the ID for this pic is 2104 - thanks!
Ken from Fist of the North Star
To say "You're already dead" in Japanese you say "Omae wa sudeni shindeiru". Usefull for your first visit to Japan when you do a home stay.
The new Fist of the North Star film series thats currently showing.
Didnt look closely at this exhibit and thus dont remember anything about when it is going/was released - a search for Aragane doesn't turn anything up related to anime :-(
Anybody not know Reiji Matsumoto?
Goodies from kamichu.
The next four photos are of some up n coming anime titles and their producers - couldn't recognize some which may be old though.
New film out this year - Toki wo kakeru shojyo.
CACA - the folks who brought us Reiko Nagase and the opening intro to Ghost in the Shell - the first TV series.
You get the chance to lay your own voice over anime.
Black Jack and Atom at the Tezuka booth.
Banpresto and a new Gundam arcade game and ACE2 on show - Will get you a review of ACE as soon as I get it ^^
Blood Plus.
Saya's sword - shorter than I thought.
Didn't pay too much attention to this - Reisei no Moribito
Artwork from Reisei no Moribito.
Characters from Gedo Senki.
A brand new spanking series form Gonzo - Garas no Kantai airing on TV Asahi from the 4th April.
Witchblade - another new series from Gonzo.
A maid convincing us that we should visit their maid cafe in Akihabara. Cute-M is the cafe in question and I'm trying to arrange a photo session there.
Funny thing about telephone cards in Japan - print an anime character on it and the price goes up ten times.
Galaxy Angel - the game and anime.
Project Blue - a crap website they have to promote a new the new anime series - the promotion movie looked excellent however and will upload in the next few days - keep em peeled.
UPSOLD.COM - the Japanese equivalent of Cafe Press.
A ton of anime cells were to be found being flogged for large amount of dosh.
Gunsword goodies.
Gunsword goodies - unfortunately for display purposes only.
Note the Gunbuster poster which I felt like ripping from the wall and making a run for it.
Any Seed fans seen Soukyu no Fafner - RIGHT OF LEFT?
The trailer for this 2007 release anime looked fantastic - Tekkon Kinkuri-to.
Looks like a product from Papermoon.
Anybody watching the current series of BlackJack?
Dakimakura will always be popular in Japan as long as they continue to have scantly clad anime girlies on them.
Moe characters anyone?
OK, thats it for today but I still got a ton more from the Tokyo Anime Fair including IGPX goodies ^o^
