Sumida River

Out n about for a walk the other day around the Sumida River area. The river cuts through many residential areas and is the perfect place for a stroll. I loved walking along the river banks of the River Thames back in London and if you are a river person too then Sumida River is the place to take that walk and snap some photos too.
During the Summer firework season however, the river banks are absolutely packed with folks trying to get a view of one of the biggest firework displays in Tokyo.
I recommend to get off at Kachidoki station on the O-Edo line and walk towards Sumida river. You will see maps like this one which are labeled in English too.
Many residential areas around the river away from the hustle and bustle of the busy parts of Tokyo - a walk along the river is a very refreshing peaceful experience.
If you want to see what it looks like from the river then have a look at the Himiko Tokyo Boat Cruise post.
