Today we see Mirai-chan and Haruka-chan seeing the sights at Asakusa - make sure its on your places to visit list when you visit Tokyo as you can enjoy some of the more traditional Japan without traveling far away from the metropolis.

ち (chi) for "chochin"

Following on from the previous hiragana in this Moekana series which was た, today we learn "ち" (chi). Today's word is "ちょうちん” (pronounced "chochin") which means "lantern".
The katakana equivalent of "ち" is "チ".

Example

You can use this in a sentence like:-
Ore no chochin wa omae no chochin yori ookii no sa
俺のちょうちんはお前の提灯より大きいのさ。
My lantern is bigger than your lantern.

Exercise

Write out "ち" 50 times on your face with a marker while saying "ち" 50 times with a mouth full of toothpaste.
