Together with Internet Entrepreneur Ejovi Nuwere at the headquarters for the Japan Times.
Ejovi established a load of well known services like FON and now currently runs Internet strategy at the Japan Times and is the CEO of Land Rush Group.
It gives me great pleasure to announce that The Japan Times and I are planning to launch a Tokyo portal website which is tentatively being called internally as project "Tokyo Dot" as in tokyo.japantimes.co.jp.
By combining our two brands together on the Mirai Gaia platform, we aim to provide the latest in lifestyle trends from Tokyo together with an enhanced user experience which embraces many social media networks through available API's.
We are looking to feature much user generated content in the form of Tokyo Live Blogger posts and work with folks like you who photo blog about life in Tokyo.
We want to provide the definite guide to Tokyo for your interests and needs and would like your feedback.
As part of the portal, I personally would like to see things like photo walks and my "A Week in Tokyo" series.
I'm also thinking about things like:-
-Top ten business hotels to stay at.
-Top ten budget hotels to stay at.
-Top ten vegetarian restaurants.
-Top ten Medical/disabled facilities.
-Recommended 1x1 language teachers.
-Guides on living in Tokyo (driving license, buying a house, starting a business, visa, marriage, tax etc etc)
-How to start a successful career in Tokyo.
-Job classifieds.
-Everything Tokyo.
We would like to know which Japan news sites you currently enjoy (like JapanProbe) for example and what you like about those sites.
Would also like to hear what you personally want from a Tokyo portal. What sort of news and info and features would you like to see.
If you run a Japan photo blog, let us know the URL - we want to involve you as much as possible. Having your content on the Japan Times is something that probably looks good on your profile too ^^
