Gundam Project

Punynari gets along to Odaiba and takes a few pics for us of the 1/1 scale Gundam thats currently being built - more pics at his burogu.

From the looks of these photos, it looks like they've done a really good job in making RX78 look more than decent.
There is a 1/3 Zeta Gundam built many moons ago but looks far from decent.

Love the markings on the legs.

And we get to see a bit of the arms too. Cant wait to go this Summer! We should do a dannychoo.com meetup and go together.

Original text from punynari below.I made a trip to Odaiba today to see the currently underconstruction RX-78 Gundam from the original Gundam series. This is a life sized Gundam that has some functionality (or for show stuff) like blowing out steam. Who knows if I’ll actually be in Japan when its completed but at least I can say that I have seen its construction. It’s supposed to be completed in July and up for 2 months. Where it will go from there? I don’t know. Hopefully not dismantled or something…

Earlier, this Gundam was photoed for Dannychoo but that was a half a month ago. Let’s take a look at how far along the Japanese are in meeting their July deadline.

Earlier construction article here if you want to compare to see the difference half a month has made.
