Comrade Suzuki-san relocated from the Bandai offices in Tokyo to the Hong Kong branch a while ago. Was great to be able to hook up with him again after many years. Today we have a quick tour around the Bandai Asia offices.
A view from the Bandai offices. Everything in Hong Kong is sooo tall!
Another view from the window - smoggy on many days.
Suzuki-san is a dab hand at making custom kits - this is one of his most recent pieces.
His kit also got published in the Chinese edition of Hobby Japan.
The Chinese version of Hobby Japan has a load of localized contents.
Bandai is working on something which should be up in May and will offer many opportunities to folks out there who love Gunpla.
BAKUC - see him from time to time roaming the facebook BAKUC community.
I used to write about Gundam several times a day many years ago. After leaving salary man life at Microsoft to run my own company, the time needed to sit down and make n spray Gunpla just disappeared. As I wasnt making any Gunpla, the Gundam related articles pretty much vanished. I still do keep up with what kits are out n about especially with help from the folks at Figure.fm.
But now it looks like Gunpla is going to be a big part of my work - probably need to hire employees to sit and make Gunpla all day for us ^^;
How many of you are into Gundam?
After the meetings at the office, we nipped downstairs to have some yummy lunch.
I'm going to leave you to wander around the offices as I still got a ton to do before I leave for Europe.
Ah nearly forgot to mention that Bandai wanted you to know that some of these are not for sale ^^;
Some of these are prototypes that were going to go into mass production but didn't make the cut. Can you guess which ones they are?
