At our local Sushi place in the Shotengai . A Shotengai is usually a street which has a concentration of shops and restaurants located near a train station. A shotengai typically includes:-
* supermarkets and grocery shops
* restaurants, cafés and kissaten
* izakaya and snacks (Japanese style bars frequented by men and usually staffed by women)
* pachinko parlors
* massage parlors
* barber shops
* game centers
* post offices
* book shops
* clothes shops
* convenience stores
* koban (police boxes)
The above copy and pasted from Wikipedia and describes my local shotengai exactly - even the picture on that Wikipedia is of our local Shotengai ^^;
And this is what we had. Mmmmm. I'll start with the Mikuru *dips her in soy sauce*
And then its a stroll down the shotengai to check out the local stores.
