Spoiled little sh_t. Reminds of of a family friend's son who does nothing but eat out with his girlfriend and friends and takes his grandpa's pension and social security money. Worthless. ( View formatted comment » )
I cut my hair when I remember to. Usually works out to be once at the start of every semester. Generally, my hair style progresses from spiked to brushed to greased back to bird nest. ( View formatted comment » )
This might be viable if all NEETs were otaku, but more often than not otaku would already need to have some steady income in order to support what hobby they are fanatical for. ( View formatted comment » )
NEETs aren't actively seeking employment so they are not counted as "unemployed", are they? I would think that during this time of global economic downturn, the Japanese government could do better to find jobs for people looking for work rather than trying to get freeloaders into the work force. Liked the slow paced story feel, didn't like how they declared spellcards... or the battle in the library. There was a stark absence of any faeries or other cannon fodder, too, though I guess they're just for the games. I hoped Marisa would have sounded more energetic. Tanaka Rie as a maid... again... seemed like she was cast for her past roles as various maids rather than how to fit Sakuya. But it was a good watch. Until someone makes something better, that is. I played a lot of 360 games this year. Mostly a mix of JRPGs and western RPGs. Bought Forza, but preferred the racing in GTA4. Blew through Dawn of War, Supreme Commander, and Civ 4 too. Lots of Disgaea on the DS, and actually got back into TFC and CS on the PC thanks to some friend urging me to play again. Oh, and going through a 1 month World of Warcraft binge right now after being clean for a year. ( View formatted comment » )
Can't even remember what I was watching last January.
Zoku Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei
Hayate no Gotoku
Clannad
Clannad After Story
Code Geass R2
Toaru Majutsu no Index
Toradora
and the Tsubasa Chronicle and Lucky Star OVAs were quite awesome as well.
Worst... are shows that tried to wrap lots of fanservice (action or ecchi) in plot. Certainly there are ways to make it work, but more often than not the sacrifice of cinematography (low angle shots) or flashy fights (animation budget) leave plot looking ... ( View formatted comment » )
Using Vista for two years with no problems at all. It's more intuitive than XP (which requires some relearning), but still feels like a Windows OS. Wouldn't want to upgrade my old ME and XP machines though. Got a lot of crap on those that wouldn't like change. ( View formatted comment » )
I've done some part time record keeping work from home. It saved me an hour and a half commute even though I frequently did non-work things. The best thing for getting me to work was strict deadlines and a bit of a competitiveness with myself--"did how many records/hour yesterday, and want to surpass that today" kind of thing. The 405 here in California during rush hour is horrible. The highway near where my college is gunks up with traffic quite a bit since three highways merge and split, and since one of those goes to the Bay Bridge to San Francisco. It's quite a sight to see with all the tiers of concrete winding up into the air, especially if you're passing the Port of Oakland by night, but not so great for commuters. I'm quite envious of the one who took that video. ( View formatted comment » )
I've been trying to locate a female otaku of similar power levels since coming to college. Quite hard since I believe the disproportionately high number of males to females in the anime club I attend would effectively cut that venue for love simulation. ( View formatted comment » )
Danny, how does she look compared to the Haruhi figmas? How do they compare in scale and expressions? Noizi Ito was the illustrator for their light novels which was also both series' first medium. ( View formatted comment » )
