There are many factors in choosing a web language like software availabily, cost, learning curve and timeframe. Most hosting providers will serve PHP because it's free and usable in both Win and Linux. The same for ASP/.NET for Window servers since it's included with IIS. ColdFusion (Adobe's web language) has the best learning curve, but is not as popular because it's pretty expensive for a server license (shared hosting with ColdFusion can be pricy as well). You usually have to think of these factors when you're workin... ( View formatted comment » )

I have quite a few business cards with simple designs though. My job has a few subsidiaries, so a card for each. I'll probably design a card with all the companies on it. It's quite a hassle bringing a few of each business card in your wallet :s ( View formatted comment » )

All I need is a recipe and ingredients and I'm all good. Although I'm rarely at home and spend most (if not all) my hours in my office. My sister does most of the cooking, and when I get home which is usually late, there's always enough food for me to eat and packed for tomorrow's lunch. ( View formatted comment » )

I approve of the thumbs up/down feature. I've implemented a similar feature (it's only a thumbs down) on a client's website and it's been pretty handy. Once a comment has been thumb downed a few times, it shows a visible flag to everyone and admins that this comment is bad. When an admin reviews the bad comment, he can remove the thumbs down or delete the comment. It will also display a message saying "this comment has been approved by an admin", a deletion message or a custom message. ( View formatted comment » )

Happy Thanksgiving :) I actually had Thanksgiving dinner yesterday (Sunday), because my dad and I have to work today (I'm at work right now :P). Had the usual turkey/mashed potato/gravy dinner. We're not too fancy with foods on Thanksgiving. After dinner we watched a couple movies. ( View formatted comment » )

I was in PI last March, and yeah, some Jeepneys are really nice. I've also seen some weird ones, like having a picture of your daughter (it was a dedication I believe) on the door, and an anime character at the back. Or the Jesus and anime character combo :P ( View formatted comment » )

I've only sticked with one so far. It's Neku from Subarashiki Kono Sekai (The World Ends With You), a DS game. Link at http://gameocracy.org/site_media/photos/2008/Apr/21/the-world-ends-with-you-1.jpg Can't remember the reason for using this as an avatar : ( View formatted comment » )

Mom, no. My dad on the otherhand... I remember him renting Robotech and other OVAs when I was little. He sometimes watches anime that's shown on TV, the dubbed stuff :P My dad used to be a hardcore Avengers comic collector. Too bad he got rid of all of his comics when we moved. Not sure what my parents would say about my figurines. They haven't seen my collection yet. I don't keep them at home, only my office. ( View formatted comment » )

Astroboy and Robotech. Robotech actually started my fascination of planes. I'd always built some sort of jet out of Lego that could somewhat transform. From then on, my parents believed I would have become a fighter pilot. ( View formatted comment » )

Hmm.. I guess it depends on the field. A laptop would be bad for animation. Maybe during the building process it's ok, but certainly not the rendering process and post production. In my year of animation, I actually used about 25 computers to render out my whole scene, and even that was a long time to get done. Thank goodness for an A/C'ed room. What if you can't afford your laptop? Do they not accept you into the school? ( View formatted comment » )

I suffered a HD death last year. It was the most depressing experience, since I lost all my personal pics, memorable works and music. I've had a couple of dead HDs, but this was the worst. I was considering taking the HD to a data recovery place, but I'm kind of skeptical. I don't want my personal things being copied and leaked. It took me almost close to a year to accept the fact that I've lost everything. As for backups, I only burn the REALLY important things and anime onto DVD. I have a portable 2.5" drive ... I kind of have to say Aya beats Nana a tad bit. In terms of singing, Nana beats Aya. Too bad Kugimiya is not in the top 5 :( As for the guys (since the topic is about 1st vs 2nd), I'd have to say 2nd's Suzumura Kenichi over Kamiya Hiroshi. Male ranking: 1. Kamiya Hiroshi (Tieria Erde in Gundam 00, Nozomu Itoshiki from Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei) 2. Suzumura Kenichi (Lavi in D.Gray-Man, Shinn in Gundam Seed Destiny) 3. Ono Daisuke (Hosaka in Minami-ke, Koizumi from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu) 4. Miyano M... ( View formatted comment » )
