One sunny afternoon, you decide to play fetch with your dog in the local park (if you didn't own a dog previous to this scenario, you do now). You're tossing a stick and watching him retrieve, enjoying the lazy afternoon. One of your throws is a little off, and flies over a hedge. Your loyal companion gleefully chases after it, but a few seconds later, you hear a dismayed cry. Rushing over to see what has occurred, you happen upon the above scene - your dog dutifully trying to fetch for you. While he has a firm grip, it doesn't seem like he's trying to hurt her. To be realistic (for this post), I'd seperate them and apologize for my dog. Most likely she'd think my dog is adorable, sparking a long conversation. From there I just take it slow, for it all pays off in the end. :D

Since the dog has her right, I guess I'll take the left. I'll ask her if she's in pain. If not then I'll sit and watch. If yes then I'll remove the dog and apologise. I'll remember to improve my aim next time.
