For all Gunji Otaku who enjoy military stuff: I thought you would enjoy this. I will be working on her again in a week once I get back to College- I'm not just building a model of the USS Enterprise- she will run and she will work. To boot, I am mixing Apple's Ipod technology with Audacity to make a wicked sound package. When I found that I could have a continuous play (20mins+) of ship movement sounds, aircraft in the background and PA system calls, I drooled. Link is to the 1/350 Tamiya IJN Yamato I finished that is operational. (The photo I uploaded is reference material- I can't make something that good but I'm sure gonna try!) #y http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiZLwLTO5es&feature=PlayList&p=FE88077A7E0D25C6&index=0">
Wow that's a pretty big undertaking but sounds really cool. Hope it turns out well. 頑張って!
Kudos to you for undertaking such a project. I wish you well with it!
Good luck with that! We gunji otaku salute you XD
brave soul navy ships *shutter* adding photo-etch hand rails to the yamato ??? all 800yards of it times both sides ?
thanks for the comments! It is a large undertaking and I will be finished in at least a few months. The ship, when complete will not only be a model- it will be a functional vehicle. The carrier will be worth approximatly $1200 USD when finished- that will buy you 20 figures.
The other part of this project I like- the kit is Japanese, and the total components put into the ship are 51% Japanese, 27% American and 22% Chinese. I went out of my way to get some american components.
