LoL, danny I can't take you seriously when you're talking with your storm trooper gear on.
But... but... Only Stormtroopers are that precise...
I can, All the suit need is a arm band with a logo on it... (for troop refrence and chapter, group, ect)
party it up!
I didn't know what to expect because I first saw you on G4TV. Star Wars runs in the family so the dance trooper caught my interest. Being exposed to otaku life (from my sister) I wasn't suprised or afraid in any way. I'm glad your getting a new inflow of members. Indeed Welcome all =D
Nice Danny again on television. This time in BoingBoing - Stormtrooper and Vader :)
that was highly amusing ^^ nice tv feature and lengthy compared to others. looks like you had a good time :)
That video surely perks up my day! Stormtroopers and Darth Vader are still popular in Tokyo from what i see. ヽ(`∀´丶)ノ "When I go to Akihabara again as a parent, I must remember to buy tonnes and tonnes of wires for my kids!"
Yea I had a good amount of laughing from that. By the way, Danny, do you consider yourself having an accent or was it the lack of pin mic?
It sounds like Danny still has his English accent from London!
I didn't think of accent. I thought it was the helmet XD I like the wire part too. I have a lot of spare wires, which is quite good because whenever I need something I just open the drawer :) I don't think wires would be what I would buy as gifts to others. I might get one for myself though... just because I can and the price is likely acceptable.
I've been lurking this site for much longer then I've been posting but I never found it confusing or anything.
I actually thought your site was pretty user friendly. I didn't have any problems and was always interested enough to visit it multiple times a day. ^_^
Brilliant video indeed! Have to hand it to those guys that were at that little event towards to the end. So much enthusiasm!
welcome folks from boing boing. ^^ that's a strange name for a tv channel though. ^^;
would you prefer "jumping eyes TV"? I think the meaning is more or less the same ^^
Lololol a stormtrooper with British accent XD just epic
Wow. Is Boing Boing that of a site? I thought it was just another person's blog... Congrats anyway!
Nope. BoingBoing is a major site for US folks now. It started as a blog, but it's grown fast.
It looks like a lot of fun! It's amusing how half the people around Danny don't even give a thought about his storm trooper disguise, while the other half is gawking (btw kudos to you Danny for making the day to those people inside the stores with your dancing sk1llz ^^)
I actually liked the orange theme of Danny's site that's why it helped me navigate well. LOL Weird, but I like the colors, really.
I was overloaded by the amount of information on the site when I first visited. It took me a while to figure out that I was not going to be able to go back and read it all from the very beginning hehe. After I decided that, the site became much easier to navigate ^_^;; So this was completely my issue and nothing wrong with site / design :)
I came here directly via a link to a doujinshi-related article ages ago (2006? 2007?), so I wasn't confused. I only began searching around the rest of the site this summer, though. Hoping the YouTube Live footage gets online in a higher quality too, the one on Youtube currently is quite low res.
LOL Loved that! "and thats how you hand out tissue paper". Great vid! ( Someone seems to really like maids )
Huh, the site was a little confusing at first. But as I started coming more often, it became easier to navigate. Then again, I did look at all the menus and such to get a general understanding of everything. Don't know how many people out there really willing to do that.
Wot... I never knew that Danny got such British accent?!! O.o I mean, of course i knew you're from UK... But, ya know... I never really imagined someone with Asian origin to speak in British accent.. lolol. With your high-pitched voice, i really thought that Wayne Rooney was inside the stormtrooper suit... lololol. btw, not in any way, am i saying that you speak in scouse... XD
Agree that it was a bit surprising. Still, good to hear an ol' Blighty accent ^^ They are few and far between these days. At least, that's how it feels to me whenever I watch television or videos on the internet.
lol~ i agree~ i never new Danny so much of an accent either~ but the videos pretty funny anyway~ =D
OK... now I need to hear Danny say, "these aren't the droids we're looking for" in Brit accent :D
What kinda made me curious is, We still haven't heard Danny speaking in Nihongo... And after hearing his british accent, I'm dying to hear it... Will there still be any accent left in the nihongo... It should be epic... C'mon Danny, post any vid of you speaking in nihongo...
if you watch his youtube live clip, you'll see Danny speaking Japanese. You'll notice that there is still a bit of accent but very fluent
danny speaks in japanese in his Good Smile office tour video. search the site for that.
Epic video was epic! XD I'm shure this is one tour folks from Silicon Valley will never forget! Very lolsome
Thanks to everyone for checkin out the video, and a special thanks to Joi and Danny for being such gracious and awesome hosts. We had a lot of fun putting this together, and we look forward to doing more crazy stuff. To anyone who has not seen Boing Boing, it's a directory of wonderful things, so check it out. While watching the raw footage, hearing Danny's heavy accent echo through that storm trooper helmet literally made me laugh out loud. Epic! Thanks again Danny! Cheers Derek Bledsoe Series Producer, BBtv
Welcome to Dannychoo.com & glad that you guys had fun in Japan with Tokyo Dance Trooper & Darth Vader being your tour guide ^_^ Hope to see more exciting vid from BBtv
fufufu have to watch at home cos no sound at shop lol!
Headphones?
the live show seems so fun (^0^)/!! ja-ja-jang jang ja jang jang ja jang~~ XD lol
I don't remember being confused, only happy to have found a site that shared the sites, sounds, language and customs of Japan with me. One instinctively knows when something is right, and DC.com felt comfortable. Then I found the figures, and I knew I had found my 'home' ^_^
"his sidekick dark vader" so the dark lord was reduced to being a sidekick
YAY Danny! You're the best ^^
First, i wish i could have seen(or at least heard -_-!) the video but my computer has been slow so the video is a no-go... My first time here? geez... it's still my first time here, lol. I still have trouble around here in certain things, like "formating a pic to fit the tiny square... but aside from that it's been great around here...
was never really confused when i first visited the site. i just couldn't get over how awesome it was!!!
With the title being "Boing Boing TV" I was expecting something different. XD
lol, me too.
OIC... so if Hector's not doing camera work he goes as Darth Vader (the Stormtrooper's sidekick lol). I like the part where Danny goes "HUH?" when Joi said, "he is also the Prince of Akihabara" XD Priceless!
LOL @ getting wires from Japan as souvenirs ^_^ First time I came across this site was from a full lot of reviews on figures and Japan news I was interested in ^_^ Wow, Boing Boing must have had a lot of fun with Danny as a guide and learning the way of handing out tissue paper to business people ^_^
I love your voice~
first time here? dun remember too clearly but i remember the whole place was text and a few images here and there (was that 2005ish? iono ^^"). navigating was way easier back then. but we are the readers and i'd say we adapt to you site/blogging style as it 'evolves'.
The site navigation is fine, it didn't confuse me when I first visited, I came here with a purpose of finding the meaning of life & I found it here. Tokyo Dance Trooper giving out tissue~~~~~~~~ Wow, those guys at the Dearstage dance real hard ^^ *play Star Wars tune* Tokyo Dance Trooper is on stage!!!!
First time here, I was somewhat perplexed, but now as things change I adapt easily because things are like that. "The Prince of Akihabara" has an interesting ring to it.
Man I cannot stop chuckling at the guy on the left side of the picture, the one wearing the teddy ears or whatever ears it is.
the site rocks it wasn't confusing at all. and I'm still new here its interesting i come back every day to comment and read the comments. looking at the figures is cool though I'm a bit broke to buy anything its still fun to look.
I feel right at home when I visited dannychoo.com for the first time, since it was right after my trip to Japan ^^; It filled the void I had from returning from Japan so to speak~
My first experience with the site, was a couple years ago. It's hard for me to remember exactly what I thought, but as usually when I go to a new site, it's a bit mysterious and very unfamiliar. I think the article that I was looking at that time was http://www.dannychoo.com/adp/eng/515/Tokyo+Property+Purchase.html Never really visited much than either. I think the only other time I had really stopped and read some DC articles was when http://www.dannychoo.com/adp/eng/509/Hokousha+Tengoku.html#comment373963 was posted. The was tricked into coming here on irc i think because of the oppai. Anyways at those times, I never really understood the site that much, or really knew precisely what a blog really was, despite following one Anime Reviewers blog (momotato Daioh).
Stormtrooper on the tele again huh... You know what, we need stormtrooper TV!!!!!Then we see dancing stormtrooper all the time... Still, I never knew that the server was taking a pounding from all the traffic you get...jusst wow!!!!!! Ever thought of getting another server...
I want some wires!
I was confuse when I came here, and also realized I discover gold!
I don't recall being confused the first time I visited. It was purely accidental the first few times I believe. Researching stuff. Came across varying degrees of cuteness lol.
I remember when I first visited DC.com, I didn't understand what you guys were talking about^^;... No knowledge of internet lingo... Saw the video yesterday on Joi's blog! Boing Boing? Right...
I was confused at some things at first, like member news. Never saw something like that before. First thought was that "Oh its news for members only" ^^;;; But got used to everything in 1 or 2 days.
I think of eyes when i hear boing boing ^^; DC was never confusing when i landed on the site.
Hmm, all I remember from when I first visited this site was "whoah! this dude knows his stuff! Gonna bookmark this site". No problems with navigating the first time. Of course, the site overall has refined since then.
The first time I visited DC.com I thought it was a team blog/site since there was so much content. (This was before member news btw)
Love the 'Boing Boing TV' name. Enjoyed the bit on wires and how Danny final sub-dued the Maid handing out tissues.
Danny did you ever think you'd be so awesome when you were older, lol. That video made my day.
I first visited DC through the Gundam article a bit over a year ago, and it's interesting because I had basically no interest in gunpla then and still don't. Didn't find things very confusing - there was a bit of confusion at first because I was browsing by categories - Japan, Stormtrooper, Gundam, etc. That's the main way the site was sorted then after all. I remember being a bit surprised to learn this was a blog - so far my experience with blogs had mainly been LiveJournal and Xanga, so this was an eyeopener. Once I'd had more time and gotten an interest in everything, browsing through all the news at once made things much simpler. Made even easier by the design update awhile back. I find it interesting how there's still people who are commenting on your British accent. Sometimes it's easy to forget that not all of us have been around that long. ^^;
Funny how it took you a few tries to finally give out one tissue.
i totallly enjoy watching this!!!^ ^ alot of Funny moments
I wasn't very confused when I arrived at this piece of heaven. It didn't take me long to realize I had discovered something great. Nice video danny. n_n
I'm still confused and I read you every day. I figure as long as I stay close to the RSS-yellow-brick-road, then I'll be ok.
Lol didnt know that Stormtroopers have such posh British accents
LOL, seems you made an awesome tour of Akiba. Great video^^;
First time i went to this site i was like "what the hell do i do?". XD
Saw you on Boing Boing and thought anyone having that much fun must be worth checking out. Great site! I had gotten lost in work and all about ten years ago and had almost forgotten how much I enjoyed the culture and art central to this site. And yes, I believe that a Stormtrooper with an English accent, dancing in the streets of Japan, while showing Silicon Valley execs around, is actually more of what the world really needs about now.
