Been very behind in the figure review department - too many SAFS ^^;
Today we take a look at the gorgeous Haruka from the eroge Beat Blades haruka.
Haruka was released a while back by Alter. Shes 1/8 scale and you can get her from HobbyLink Japan who were kind enough to send in a sample. Retail price is 6,800 yen.
Love her dynamic pose but the base takes up a load of space and the font type on the base (forgot to take a pic) looks like poo.
Haruka looks gorgeous from any angle - an example here of yokopai.
Lovely thighs.
SankakuComplex has some cute images of Haruka in the flesh which you may want to check out.
Another yokopai shot.
Haruka has a very sweet face too and if I was to be stabbed with a ninja type weapon then I would most certainly choose Haruka to do it...
..then she could stab me with her other weapons.
Her weapons are removable and you can put other stuff in her hands but I completely forgot to take some pics of her rowing a boat.
A few of these in the Wallpaper Pool.
Another great release from Alter. And for those who are wondering why Kotobukiya have a figure of Haruka in the exact same pose - whats supposed to happen is that when a figure maker gets a license to use a character, the property owner (in this case I think its Alice Soft) is supposed to make sure that no two figure companies make the same figure in the same pose.

In this case, I heard there was a communication problem which is why Alter and Kotobukiya ended up making the same character in the same pose...
Today I wanted to ask which company do you have the most figures of. Since I started to work with GSC, my GSC and MAX figures completely out number the rest but before I joined them, most of my figures were Max Factory, followed by Good Smile, Alter, Kotobukiya and then Mega House.
Thanks once again to HobbyLink Japan for the lovely sample - get yours at HLJ.
Some of Haruka in action before I forget.

Oh wow. A bit behind, indeed. ^^; And way to slip in a picture of Fauna (again).

Duplicates aside, it's a very nice pose, and from what I've seen the two figures are pretty similar in quality though Alter's has a bit of an edge. I wonder who took the blame for the communication mishap though. Couldn't have been pretty.

I really liked Haruka's voice in the eroge and would definitely love to see her animated. This is probably one of the very few figures I ever wanted to buy if I'm not shoving my budget into Gundams ^^;

Indeed, she's such a beauty. If I ever was to be tracked down by a kunoichi it would be Haruka...or Sakura Haruno.

I've become a major fan of Alter. Their level of detail, pose, and character selection is what I look for in figures.

Aside Alter I like GoodSmile.

Hmmm...looking at her again and again I think I might send in an order. She'd play nicely with Kos-Mos, Tsuzuri, and Churam.

Nice Haruka, this reminds me that I haven't opened mine yet. ^^; about which company figure do I have most of, if GFFs were counted as figures, I'd say Bandai. otherwise probably Maxfactory because of all the figmas I have. ^^

Haruka looks lovely indeed. And I always wondered why there were two of the same character, same pose released close together lol. Now I know hehe.

I have more Kotobukiya figures than any other. And am proud of it! They make damn fine figures!!! Have alot of you had bad experiences with Koto or something? None of mine have displeased me in the slightest. I must have chosen well I spose....
I think its a tie between MF and GSC for second place. I think I prefer Clayz over those two anyways.

And very nice Fauna pic btw. Still want her.....:sob:

She's a very good looking figure. If i had the money I'd think about her.

I love Alter's figures, their quality is top notch. Unfortunately I don't have very many of them (only 2 at the moment). Currently I have more Max Factory figmas than anything else (mostly because they don't cost as much).

I have the most from Max Factory :P It's probably just they happened to have the figures I was interested in most (like Ar Tonelico 2's Ruka)

The Haruka I bought from Kotobukiya also looks very similar to this one, but I think it's a tad more detailed (such as the mesh on her upper chest). It also comes with a nice shuriken stand ^^

Love how Haruka looks. Cute character design and lovely costume. Its a great looking figure but theres one thing that prevents me from getting it besides the big price tag. This version doesn't have any support to hold up the figure other than the right leg. Worried as for how stable the figure really is... that and if there is a possibility it may break due to the entire load resting on that lonely leg. Kotobukiya has an additional support for the left leg but it looks bad... so I'm not sure if its worth trading off great appearance for better support... love the Alter version better. Think its the details... or colours... or finishing touches that make it all the better.

Is your experience with leaning from a few (5-6 years back?)
I don't have many figures that would have a leaning problem, but I hear more recent figures have improved quite a bit with regards to leaning problems.

Nice figure, would be really interesting to compare the Alter/Kotobukiya editions of the same figure, but I'm too fatigued :/

As far as quantity, Definitely Kotobukiya, then Max Factory (whose figures tend toward the less expensive side compared to the likes of Alter). Not counting shokugan or random cheap figures from non-figure companies.

goodsmile outnumbers my maxfactory figures by 1. heheh! I accidentally clicked on max factory in the poll though >_<

Most figures I have are the Konami ones, the mecha musume range, strike witches range and busou shinki. Then its tied between Bome/Kaiyodo and GSC/Max factory and finally, one Bandai figure.
Overall I like: GSC> Max factory> Konami> Alter> Kotubukiya> Other

Most of my figure collection is from Kotobukiya. i'd say a good 50% i think but who's counting. Kotobukiya have such a huge selection in comparison to other company's that it's kind of hard not to notice. Although frequently looked down upon I think their sculpts are pretty solid and overall their quality is pretty good, improving with every release, like their tony taka shining wind lineup. man, those are really good.

I still own several good smiles, max factory's and alter's but they always seem much more harder to obtain and are relatively more expensive probably due to their higher quality and standards. :P

I've got mostly Max Factory figures (mostly figma + a regular 1/8 PVC) and one GSC figure. Don't particularly have brand loyalty or anything, just find that MF/GSC tends to make the things I like the most. Alter does make some great figurines, but the higher price point discourages me. Factor in shipping costs and purchasing an elaborate figure can really turn into a fair investment.
